If you're looking for book recommendations on parenting, our other post is what you're looking for. This blog post is dedicated to reading for the joy of it. A hidden win here is if your child sees you reading they're going to be much more likely to also want to read too. So by reading something fun for yourself you're actually helping them too! Lets dive in.

Fun Fantasy Reads

We don't mind some romance in the books but if the entire world the author puts us in is second to the love story that is being created then we don't really care to read it much. We want the story to be the primary focus and the love story to be very much secondary. And if there is no love story at all then it is a huge win. Here is a list of books we love.

1. "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien

   - A classic fantasy that transports you to Middle-earth, where small heroes go on big adventures. The subtle romantic elements are woven into the rich tapestry of its world.

2. "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern

   - This novel is a mesmerizing fantasy revolving around a mysterious circus. Romance is present but takes a back seat to the magical and atmospheric storytelling.

3. "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman

   - A delightful adventure filled with magic and whimsy, where romance is a charming part of the story but not its entire focus.

Future Fantasy Reads on Our List

1. "The Priory of the Orange Tree" by Samantha Shannon

   - An epic fantasy known for its rich world-building and complex plot, where romance exists but isn’t the main storyline.

2. "Spinning Silver" by Naomi Novik

   - A fresh take on traditional fairy tales, this book promises a journey into a world of magic and lore where romantic threads are subtly interlaced.

3. "The Bear and the Nightingale" by Katherine Arden

   - A fantasy set in a world inspired by Russian folklore, this novel is on our list for its enchanting setting and narrative where romance is not the centerpiece.

Conclusion:

Whether you're seeking guidance, inspiration, or an escape into fantastical worlds, these books offer a wonderful balance. For parents, these reads provide a way to connect with their own interests while staying engaged in their children’s literary world. Happy reading!
